BIFF 2021 FAQ

Because you may have noticed, BIFF’s a little different this year. :-)

How To BIFF | 2021

NOTE:
All the regular BIFF films will be streamed on the BIFF Streaming Platform.
This will require an initial account set up on the platform to view films.

  • Individual film viewers/renters
  • Full-festival pass holders
  • BIFFicate holders

Everyone. Having a festival pass or BIFFicates is not the same thing as having an account on the BIFF Streaming Platform.

  1. Since films are streaming this year when can I watch them?
You can watch them any time day or night for the full 10-day duration of the festival. Tickets will go live on Fri. Feb. 19th and terminate end-of-day on Sun. Feb. 28th.
    More on ticketing
  2. Then why the “Festival Schedule”?
What makes a film festival a film festival is the opportunity to interact with the filmmakers. Filmmaker Q&A sessions ARE scheduled for specific days and times. Additionally there are other special event taking place including Drive-In screenings, Filmmaker Workshops that are open to the public, the Vintage Radio Play, Student Events etc.
    More on the Festival Schedule
  3. If I get interrupted or can’t complete the film can I finish later?
Yes. If you stop the streaming of your film you have up to 48 hours to resume watching the film.
  4. I have lots of general questions about how to manage the technology to view the films online?
    You’re in luck!
If you missed the “How To BIFF” presentation on the 17th we recorded it and you can VIEW IT HERE along with other helpful information.
  5. Can I watch the BIFF films on my TV?
The answer to that one is… it depends. :-)
For lots of folks in lots of situations the answer is yes. More on this on the “How To BIFF” page. The “BIFF Streaming Platform FAQ” goes into further detail.
  6. I’m used to having to purchase tickets in advance?
Two things. One, there’s no need to rush as venues selling out is not a thing with streaming films. Nice? Two, tickets once purchased provide immediate access. The technology does not accommodate advance purchase for screening at a later date.
  7. BIFF is such a great event. Who do I thank?
Thanks for asking. :-)  Here’s the team photo of our wonderful, community minded sponsors.
  8. I have a question not addressed here.
New this year you’ll see an icon at the lower right of your browser window. We have volunteers available to help you in real time… most times. We’re still a volunteer dependant thing. :-)
You’ll see the app prompts you for an email. That’s so if no one is on at that moment we can reply when a volunteer comes back on if we miss you.

Our print program book is roughly 11″x11″. As such while you can view it online it is NOT formatted for printing on 8.5×11 paper on your home printer.
