Beloit International Film Festival (BIFF) to Mark Fifteenth Anniversary, Feb. 21 to March 1, 2020

Announcing 15th Season | Beloit International Film FestivalMark your calendars now because The Beloit International Film Festival is celebrating bigtime in 2020, and film fans won’t want to miss a minute of it!

The BIFFteenth Anniversary of BIFF is going to be a real party. In fact, the BIFF will open its celebration on Feb. 20 with a Festival Eve Gala: BIFFteenth Birthday Party…not to be missed!

Executive Director Greg Gerard says that “BIFF has come a long way since it was dubbed an ‘alternative to Sundance’ by the New York Times in 2006. Thousands of filmmakers from scores of countries have carried the name and spirit of BIFF, and the region, internationally.”

Gerard and his nation-wide team of preview screening staffers are in the final throes of selecting approximately 100 films that will be screened during the ten days of BIFF, Feb. 21 thru March 1. Filmmakers from throughout the region and around the world are expected to once again be on hand to talk about their films and engage local fans and potential filmmakers.
In addition to film screenings, BIFF will include workshops, and a variety of special events now in the planning stages.

The venues will remain in the downtown area. This year there will be some new settings as well, including events at the new Beloit College Powerhouse and a return to The Castle, an arts and entertainment center on Prospect St.
Tickets will go on sale online in January, and the box office will open later in February. Once again, 300-400 volunteers will be needed. Dates for volunteer sign-ups will be released early in 2020.
