Melissa Kent is a film editor who is embarking on her career as a director. She has always strived to work in a variety of genres and her sensitivity to performance and strong talent for storytelling has prepared her well. Editing credits include THE AGE OF ADALINE, THE VOW, JUST WRIGHT, SOMETHING NEW, THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2, and FOUR CHRISTMASES.
Early work includes Sofia Coppola’s directorial debut THE VIRGIN SUICIDES, and a co-editing credit on Francis Ford Coppola’s THE RAINMAKER.
Melissa’s television credits include Kenny Leon’s A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Showtime’s AN AMERICAN CRIME starring Catherine Keener, THE ROMAN SPRING OF MRS. STONE starring Helen Mirren, and THE REAGANS for which she was nominated for the ACE Eddie Award.
As a director, Melissa draws upon her years of experience collaborating with some of Hollywood’s most talented filmmakers, and her studies with directing coach Judith Weston. BERNIE AND REBECCA is her directorial debut.
