Into The Outdoors logoThe Emmy Award-winning team of Beloit College alumni behind the popular PBS series for young people, “Into The Outdoors,” will share their stories and inspire a new generation of storytellers when they visit Beloit during the Beloit International Film Festival.

Beloit College graduates Rick Rose ’86 and Andi Patilliet ’16 will offer a lively 60-minute hands-on program on the elements of producing an award-winning TV series on Saturday, Mar. 4, 2:30-4 pm, in the Weissberg Auditorium at the Beloit College Powerhouse.

Rose co-created this series for Discover Mediaworks 20 years ago alongside Mark McNease of “Sesame Street.” Patilliet took over the reins as brand manager of the educational and entertaining series five years ago.

They will examine the process of producing a broadcast weekly series that also airs on YouTube and has its own app.

“This is a unique opportunity for students at all levels interested in learning the art of storytelling, from editing and researching to marketing and hosting,” notes BIFF Executive Director Greg Gerard. “Participants will have a chance to get to know the producers and interact with them after the presentation.”

This workshop is free and open to the general public. Beloit College Powerhouse is located at 850 Pleasant St. in Beloit.
