Ashton Avila was born and raised in southern California where she discovered filmmaking and fell in love with storytelling as a child. In search of adventure, she left California in 2009 to study film at the University of Rhode Island. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts from the Harrington School of Communication and Media at URI, she moved back to Los Angeles where she began working as a freelance production assistant and spent a year as a production assistant for NBC’s Access Hollywood/Access Hollywood Live. In 2014 she was accepted into the graduate program at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts where she is currently working towards her Master of Fine Arts in Film Production with an emphasis in Directing. She’s always had a fascination with 1960s and is beyond excited to have finally had the opportunity to make the film she’s spent years dreaming of.

Javier Enrique is one of Puerto Rico’s leading Assistant Directors and has collaborated with: Edward James Olmos and Lymarie Nadal in “América”, Todd Solondz in “Life during Wartime” staring Allison Janney, Ally Sheedy, Paul Reubens and Ciarán Hinds.Javier Enrique has produced short films, commercials and feature films. His first experience working in film was in the feature film “Havana Nights: Dirty Dancing 2” as a Production Assistant. Soon he made his way into to the developing film industry in Puerto Rico establishing himself as one of the best Assistant Directors in the Caribbean. Currently he is working in El Secreto del Retrato and Nadia’s Promises.

JAVIER MACIPE (Zaragoza, ESPAÑA, 1987). He studied Audiovisual Communication (UCM) and specialized in Directing at the School of Cinema of Cuba (EICTV). In his career his work has spanned the fields of fiction and documentary, developing hybrid genres among both these areas in his latest works. Due to the major impact of his work, he was awarded a grant by the prestigious Fundación Antonio Gala to young artists for the accomplishment of his first feature film “The disadvantages of not being God” which premiered at the Festival of Malaga and won several national and international awards.

In 2014 in Portugal he made his short film “Os Menino do rio”, which so far has received more than 80 international awards, among them in Spain: Short of the Year at Promofest, Zinebi, Huelva, FibABC… Currently, Javier is preparing his second fiction feature film, a co-production between Spain, Argentina and Germany.
