Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin to British parents, Sarah Deakins spent the first year of her life in Chicago, until her parents decided to move to Canada. A graduate of the University of Victoria theater program, Ms. Deakins has extensive stage and screen credits; she has also written and produced several plays and films, taking the helm most recently as director of her newest piece, “Greece”, produced by Brightlight Pictures. The first short film she penned, “Late”, went to Cannes with Telefilm Canada as part of a successful festival run, and “Greece”, is in the midst of its festival circuit. Ms. Deakins makes her home in three main cities, splitting the year between LA, Toronto, and Vancouver. She is currently in development on her first feature film, “Home Free”, with Federgreen Entertainment.
