The Beloit International Film Festival (BIFF) is offering internship opportunities for college students in a number of areas. Requires 8-12 hours per week in the Spring and Fall, and up to 15 hours in the Summer and Winter. The heaviest points of the year occur during the festival in February, and over the Summer (flexible day, evening and weekend availability).

    Executive Office Intern

    Assisting executive team with daily task.

    About:

    Assists the Executive Team with daily tasks. Duties include running errands, performing administrative tasks, marketing, and some PR work. Opportunity provided to gain event planning experience and learn the logistics of producing an annual film festival.

    Job Requirements:

    Seeking motivated individual with self-management characteristics and excellent organizational skills. Must possess ability to multi-task and have good communication skills.

    Operations Assistant Intern

    Assisting with coordinating event logistics.

    About:

    Assist operations director in coordinating event logistics, (Audio/Visual Production,venue prep, decorations, signage, entertainment etc.) Plan and update festival timeline/Production Schedule. Coordinate and assist in overseeing committees (e.g. film committee, development committee, and marketing committee) Create databases, i.e., Film Archives, Equipment Inventory, etc. Work with Festival Directors on administration of festival programming.

    Educational Outreach Intern

    Assisting in all aspects of BIFF’s outreach programs.

    About:

    You will help with Kids @ BIFF, the Student Filmmaker Showcase, and Video Storytelling are the three major components of Educational Outreach. Attend meetings with various school contacts. Assist in organizing and managing events. Work with film supplier to ensure quality age appropriate films for Kids @ BIFF. Assist educational consultants with SFS and Video Storytelling programs. Various other duties as needed.

    Job Requirements:

    Interest in media education. Must be extremely detail-oriented, hard-working and organized. Good communication skills – should be able to work in a very fast-paced environment. Excellent writing skills. Friendly and comfortable working with children and adults.

    Film Society Intern

    Assisting with memberships and donor relations.

    Job Requirements:

    Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office. Detail oriented with excellent communication skills. Friendly and discreet.

    Volunteer Coordinator Intern

    Assisting with volunteer communications

    About:

    Content to be provided by the volunteer coordinator. Work with this individual to update the video/film for use with Ambassadors to share the “BIFF Experience.” Assist with Ambassador training and sign-up. Create and distribute a daily e-zine or Facebook update during the festival with BIFF ‘buzz” – popular films, newly added films, the day’s events, last night party photos, etc. Assist with distribution of Ambassador needs to venues. Fill in as needed during the festival for unscheduled volunteer absences.
