Announcing BIFF 2023

BIFF 2023 is Here, Better and Stronger than Ever

The Beloit International Film Festival will launch its 18th season on Feb.24 with ten days of films, workshops and social events, and several new venues celebrating the Beloit downtown.

“We have had outstanding challenges over the past two years, but the film community and our audiences have stayed with us, and we are stronger than ever,” notes BIFF Executive Director Greg Gerard. “Pre-screeners have been reviewing film submissions for the past eight months and we are ready to present 100 outstanding independent films, and to welcome a record number of filmmakers from here and abroad.”

“BIFF is here, better and stronger than ever” says Lindsay Mitchell, president of BIFF. “The Beloit community has recognized BIFF, once again, as the premier international event in the region, helping to spread the Beloit story and to attract thousands of visitors to our region. This is all made possible because of a dedicated volunteer board, business and individual sponsors, great regional and national grant support, and hundreds of ambassadors who welcome guests to our community.”

“Once again, we extend our appreciation to our major underwriters– the Hendricks Family Foundation and Visit Beloit–and to the businesses, financial institutions and organizations that have made BIFF a year-round asset to this community.”

The complete guide to this year’s films will be posted in mid-January, at which time the online box office will open. All tickets are $10 and will be available online. The annual Reveal Party, at which the official Beloit Daily News BIFF printed program is released, will take place Wed., Feb. 9, at the Hampton Inn on Cranston Road in Beloit.

All presentations this year will be in-person at popular downtown venues, as well as at some brand new and newly renovated screening rooms. Favorite events, including the BIFF Sing Along and the First National Bank Classic Film Showcase, will be back.

BIFF 2023 venues will include favorite viewing sites like Bagels & More, the Hendricks Center for the Arts and the Downtown Beloit Association. Other screening sites will include La Casa Grande, Visit Beloit and the exciting Weissberg Auditorium in the Powerhouse at Beloit College. The Beloit College CELEB building at 437 East Grand Ave. in Beloit will, once again, serve as the official BIFF Box Office throughout the Ten Days of BIFF 2023.

“We still have great opportunities for event, venue and film sponsorships available and we hope to add more names to that growing list of underwriters,” notes Mitchell. “Memberships in the Beloit Film Society also offer a means for individual support. And BIFFicates, offering ticket discounts, are still available through Feb. 1.
