Director Statement

Thank you for considering A Cloudy Moon for your festival! This film was conceived and created for the Yes We Cannes International Competition and was selected as a top film. It will be screening during The Cannes Short Film Corner this May! A Cloudy Moon was written by my brother, Aaron, who also stars in it. I directed the film as well as wrote and performed the original music.

A fun fact about A Cloudy Moon is that the weekend of the shoot was also during my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary, and some aspects of this story are based on their real life relationship together.

From stage, to musical composition, to live broadcast, to film, TJ Hill has had a love for storytelling in all mediums his entire life. His film work has screened throughout the midwest. His award- winning shorts, “Key Witness” and “A Cloudy Moon” are set to make their LA premiere this March.

A life-long movie lover, Hill began his film directing journey when he had to answer the question“how do I livestream this?”. Hill is originally from Rockford, IL. He prides himself on forging cohesive partnerships in creating entertainment while pulling no punches within the craft.
