After the traumatic birth diagnosis of her new born daughter, Ally’s world is turned upside down. If only she had known the beauty of what was to come.
For far too long the film industry has claimed to promote diversity and inclusion but do nothing about it. I’ve seen so many filmmakers talk about it but see so very few actually making a notable difference in how we approach this.
We have the biggest platform in the world and it is entirely in our hands to elevate those who aren’t being represented and to tell those stories that no one else will. Through kindness and compassion for every human being, the film industry has the power to change the narrative and voice the unheard. Movies are for everyone, but movies should also be about everyone, bar none.
I hope this film inspires other filmmakers to make more predominantly diverse films and tell those offbeat stories that have never seen the light of day. And to those who have felt underrepresented and not included – we see you, we hear you and we will raise our voices for you because we’re all in this together. This film is only the beginning.
