At the same time, Aaron wrote and directed the short film, IDIOT., which played in over thirty international festivals and won six – including Best Short Film at the 2013 downtown Los Angeles Film Fest, Best Short Film at the 2013 Laughlin International Film Festival and Best Screenplay at the 2013 International Festival of Cinematic Arts Los Angeles.
Aaron left Annapurna in 2013 and created his own production entity, Michael Bruce Pictures, to house all of his future projects under. In 2015, Aaron wrote, directed and produced his next feature film, LAST DAYS OF SUMMER starring William Fichtner, Jessica McNamee and Michael Rosenbaum.
The film premiered in August 2016 at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prize for Best Narrative Feature Film. He is currently in development on two new feature projects, the first of which will shoot in early 2017.
