As the director, I feel that the writer is key to a good story. A well written story is the foundation for a great film. I loved Jim’s story, based on his own mother, about a dying woman whose one regret in life was never knowing her father because he predeceased her birth. We all take stock of our lives at some point, and it was fantastic to work with actors that could bring out the poignancy, sweetness and sadness required to make this work.
