Within the walls of the trendiest Chicago restaurants, behind the closed doors of private dinner parties, and on the banks of The Seine in Paris, OPEN TABLES explores true love, love lost and the importance of a good main course.

Jack C. Newell is an award-winning filmmaker and artist whose work has screened at the Montreal World Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, and the Gene Siskel Film Center.
He is currently in post-production on the documentary film, HOW TO BUILD A SCHOOL IN HAITI, about the construction of an elementary school in rural Haiti after the 2010 earthquake and is a case study in international economic development.
He is finishing a documentary, COURSES, which is an intimate portrait of how Chicago chef Jake Bickelhaupt evolved from running an illegal restaurant out of his home to being a celebrated two Michelin Star awarded culinary celebrity in less than a year.
Jack is the Co-creator of THE WABASH LIGHTS, a site-specific light installation controllable by the public.
A graduate of Columbia College Chicago undergrad in film/video, he currently is the Program Head of TV, Film & Digital at The Second City Training Center.
