Director Statement
I hope you enjoy “The Night Passenger”. We wanted to take a story that has perhaps been told before but tell it in an original way that is evocative of my taste as a young filmmaker. we shot our previous short film in natural light and therefore saw this film as a huge challenge, shooting for 5 nights in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, with the constraints of shooting in and around a car, with a very limiting budget. We also wanted to give the audience a story with a real beginning, middle and end, which so many “short films” are missing these days. It has been extremely humbling to be graced with a supremely talented team for the shoot and post production and we would love to be considered for your festival so “The Night Passenger” can be seen by a much wider audience.

Kevin Hoffer (director, producer) is an director, vocal director and actor who has voice directed numerous animated projects for Netflix. He directed the critically acclaimed short film ACORN CALF, and has directed plays for L.A.’s Theatre of Note. For nearly a decade, he was the curator of Tuesdays @ Nine, a cold-reading series for writers, affiliated with Naked Angels Theatre Company in New York.n.
