Determined to break out of her monotonous life, Elizabeth takes herself on a new self-empowerment journey: Learning to pole dance. With her new pole, 7-inch stilettos, and dog Foxy, all she needs is practice. And maybe a studfinder.

Director Statement

This project was born of the determination to create, despite the pressures of COVID-19. As the pandemic began, and productions shut down, Kristen (writer and actress) approached Jon (cinematographer) about shooting a socially distant one-minute short film together. What began as a one-page script by Kristen quickly became 15, as I joined as co-writer and director.

As a safety measure, production never involved more than two people in the same city. We worked as three teams of two, with each of us working across many departments. We used virtual meetings to stream our shoot, so I could direct remotely. The script incorporated video calls and online video, allowing us to connect the four actors (and one dog) into a complete story.

T.C. De Witt is a multi-awarded writer/director originally from Wisconsin and now based in Los Angeles. He has been thriving for the past decade, regularly offering his talents to production studios in LA, Chicago, Milwaukee, and internationally in Sydney and Poland. He’s provided content for Amazon Prime, Netflix, and several YouTube partners. His films have screened internationally, and his stageplays have been performed across the country. In the last ten years, he has directed 3 feature films, 57 short films, 23 episodes of his series The One Minute Rewatch, 300+ episodes of podcasts, and his multi-award-winning short film Screen: Righter screened at the Festival de Cannes in 2016. He thrives on collaboration and the thrill of sharing stories in all forms.
