Phil Allocco
Director, Writer, and Producer
Over the last several years Allocco has garnered over 30 awards for his films and screen- plays in categories such as Best Director, Best Short Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Audience Choice.
He was also one of the short-listed directors picked by Steven Spielberg from a world-wide search of over 12,000 directors for his US TV series On the Lot for FOX TV, produced by Spielberg and Mark Burnett.
In early 2005, Allocco produced and edited The Best of the GLAAD Awards for Logo. From 2003 to 2004 Allocco was the associate producer, segment director and editor of the TV series Repo Men – Stealing for a Living on TLC starring Vincent Pastore. He was also the associate producer of The Talent Collector for AMC and directed and edited numerous TV pilots and commercials.
With an extensive background in the visual arts, new media, and music, Allocco began his career as a musician and singer/songwriter. He was the driving force behind two bands that were under contract with MCA and Def Jam/Mercury records.
Law and Order released two international records with MCA, Guilty of Innocence, 1988, and Rites of Passage, 1992, and toured with acts such as Pearl Jam and Blind Melon. In 1995 Dogma was signed to Def Jam/Mercury and released Feeding the Future in 1997.
In 1989, after the band hosted thirty writers at a national press conference in Memphis, TN, Allocco was awarded honorary citizen and given the key to the city.
