BIFF 2022 Honorary Chairperson
It is with a great deal of pleasure that we announce that a very special friend of BIFF will serve as this year’s Honorary Chairperson.
Jeff Livingston has been a member of the BIFF Board of Directors for many years, providing all manner of support to the festival, including fundraising, festival operations coordination and legal advice (Jeff is a highly respected local attorney who last worked for the Beloit firm of Collins & Henderson). To say the least, he has devoted countless hours to the festival.
BIFF Chauffeur Ambassadors
Jeff has been a vital part of what makes BIFF a festival that is known for filmmaker hospitality. As the head of our transportation staff, he leads a crew of drivers that shuttle visiting filmmakers and VIPs to and from airports, hotels, screening venues, restaurants and special events.
Jeff and his crew are always the first and last in-person experience guests of the festival will have when they attend BIFF. His guidance has ensured that when filmmakers arrive in Beloit they are already having a great time and enjoying the warmth, friendliness and carte blanche assistance that is vital to the image of BIFF. He is one of the best marketing tools in the BIFF shed, and he does it all as a volunteer. You can’t put a price tag on that sort of service!

In June of last year, it was discovered that Jeff had a systemic infection that destroyed his heart. He survived in UW Hospital with an artificial heart until October 25 when a donor heart (and kidney) were found. He returned home to Beloit a mere two weeks later where he is reclaiming the life he had been absent from for nearly six months.
We all exhaled
Jeff has been dealing with aphasia, a language impairment, since a July stroke injured the left side of his brain. But he has been rehabbing and regaining his strength and language skills steadily, improving dramatically, week by week.
With that kind of devotion, and his history of dedication to BIFF’s agenda of celebrating independent films and the artists who create them, it was pretty simple to decide on who would be honored as chair of the festival. Jeff’s resiliency, passion, spirit and positivity are a big part of what makes BIFF a success every year.
We are so very proud to proclaim that the Beloit International Film Festival Honorary Chairperson for 2022 is our friend and colleague, Jeff Livingston!
