Boris, un particular titiritero de sombras, no tiene el coraje para decidirse por Clara, la mujer que ama. Y él no es el único enamorado: su sombra también lo está, de la sombra de Clara, claro está. Cuando la sombra de Boris se percata de que Clara – harta de la timidez de Boris – por fin lo manda a la porra, se revela con su originador.
Su pseudo independencia será utilizada, no para ir tras la sombra de Clara, a quien ama pero no puede seguir sin Boris, sino para confrontar a Boris con sus miedos más profundos, usando un método, digamos, algo sombrío.
